Departing the NH next morning 12th June, LB headed for Castletown Bere. A strong southerly gale was forecast for early the next morning.
Calm before the storm.
The 25 nm to Castletown Bere took LB round the Mizen Head. Tides had just turned favorable.
The white beacon marking the entrance to Piper’s Sound before Castletown Bere is visible from Mizen Head.
There is good anchor holding in C.B . the fishing boats occupy the entire 80 meter long pontoon. Thanks to Donal’s anchoring skills, LB held tight in the very strong gusty winds that blew up early today.
