The 11th June was a gorgeous sunny day with a gentle wind as we departed Castle Haven for the short trip of 15 nm to North Harbour, Cape Clear. Passing The Stags and the unmistakable Lot’s wife beacon marking the entrance to Baltimore and Sherkin Island, we motor sailed through the Gascanane Sound to the NH entrance. Lines and fenders ready we were soon inside the harbour entrance, rafted and tied up. It was early in the afternoon and not too busy. Water, electricity and fuel available.
Cape is a gorgeous island especially in the sunshine.
