We are now sitting on a mooring in New Grimsby waiting for the southerly gale to pass over before the wind drops and veers to the west. We then hope to sail back to our mooring in Baltimore, failing that we’ll crack off a bit and perhaps take the easier option back to Dungarvan overnight. Last night we watched one of the many gigs training in ideal conditions in front of Cromwell Castle.
This morning we woke up to this. Same spot, 12 hours later!! That’s sailing for you!
So far it has been a great cruise, with stunning views, interesting pilotage, safe anchorages and wonderful walks ashore. Now just to get home safely!
