Update from Varuna.
We left the port of El Balis north of Barcelona in early September 2025. We sailed along the Costa Bravo stopping each night until we got to the port of Canet en Roussillion . This is quite a remarkable port and that it is the home of a massive marine industry, 6 different brands of catamarans being produced on the site. It had 1200 moorings.
We then sailed south to Port Bou on the Spanish side of the border. A most magnificent and authentic port. Then we sailed across the Golf to Leons to Marseille. From Marseille we sailed east visiting the islands off the coast of Cannes .
We are now slightly east of Nice in Villefranche . It is an old marina where traditional boat building and repair is its main focus. There are 20 berths for our size and I do not know how we managed to get a winter marina booking here( complete luck 🍀 ) .
We will be here until next spring . Then we hope to head south to the islands of Corsica , Sardinia, Sicily and onwards to Greece . Fly home tomorrow till next May .
